Gateway Pet Rescue

Our Large Dogs

If you see a dog that you would like to visit at a Pet Adoption please use the contact form so that we can be sure that it is at the Pet Adoption that you would like to attend. Or if you would like to sponsor one of these dogs, each picture has a signup form. For every dog sponsored we are able to take in another homeless dog in need of assistance.

"(Nathan Bedford)  Forrest" is a neutered male. Named after the Confederate General. His littermate is (John B.) Gordon (who has already been adopted). A real sweetheart! (#2536)

"Geronimo" is a brindle Plotthound. He was born late April or early May of 2002, along with his sister, "Pocahontas." He is already neutered. He is food-aggressive, but only with other dogs. (#2915)

"Cody" is an 18 month old German Shepherd. He is neutered, current on all vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm preventative. Prior to coming to Gateway, he spent his life on the end of a 10-foot chain with very little human contact. He was fed and watered infrequently - just surviving. He is very friendly with people and craves attention. He gets along well with other dogs but not cats. He is housebroken. He is a "project" dog, who needs a lot of work and attention. He is not a dog for a family with young children or a first-time dog owner.

"Mason" is a beautiful, young adult neutered male, tri-colored - brindle, white and black. Lots of spots and freckles. Weighs approximately 70 pounds. Very intelligent, house trained, loving, loyal, affectionate. Looks like an English Setter mix. Mason does not get along with small dogs. He will attack them, although he does get along with dogs his size and larger.
